Getting ready to roll

Today, I took the big purple van to Target to get items necessary to make some curtains. Then we were off to the car wash to give the big purple van a clean up before driving it to church tomorrow.

Because of Blue Highways

My idea for my taking roadtrips like this one came from reading a book entitled Blue Highways: A Journey into America, by author William Least Heat-Moon, back in the 1980s. I modified his idea of traveling back roads (blue lines on old maps) to traveling on U.S. Highways, and staying off of the Interstates as much as possible. Ever since reading that book, I thought, "I am going to do that someday...." Well, this trip, was my first opportunity to really do a U.S. Highway roadtrip. j.g.
