Fireworks on the Fourth at Lagoon Admusement Park

Greetings from Casper, WY:

It is Sunday night late, Monday morning on the East coast already.
But, I need to go back and tell you about how I spent the afternoon and evening of the Fourth of July at the Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah. Twenty-seven years ago to the day I was there with my friend, Bridgie Brelsford. Well, the amusement park still has the roller coasters which I did not ride, but the Scrambler, dodge'm cars, sky lift, train, Farris wheel, and the 110 year old carousel, which I did. There were also the newer "spin till you puke" rides, as well as a couple of good stage shows---one based on songs from Broadway stages.

It still had the Pioneer Village and a small zoo, complete with a camel, zebra, and other assorted animals.
When Bridgie and I were there in 1981, it was the first time I had ever seen, or at least noticed, an arcade game of "Wack-a-Mole." I was please to see that "Wack-a-Mole" still held a prominent place on the main walkway in from the entrance gate. (This past spring, at the Food City party before the Bristol spring race, a variation of the game was there---"Wack-a-Germ" sponsored by Clorox Bleach.)
The fireworks were set to music to finish off the evening. They were good, but not as good as the ones we saw 27 years ago--that fell around us, or the fireworks that finish off the Knoxville Symphony Concert at the World's Fair Park.

After all of the fun at the park, I went on up the road about twenty miles to spend the night in Ogden, UT. Left Ogden on Saturday morning to arrive at Rawlins, WY Saturday night, after stopping to eat at Little America, WY and discovered they had the Nascar race from Daytona on their TV.
